Be sure to follow the instructions step by step.  Before using my hack, you need to make some mods in commerce.cgi so the add to cart and continue shopping buttons will return the user properly and the page indexing will still work. Just follow my instructions step by step and it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to be up and running with page indexing. Please be sure to check out my other scripts available below.

The manual price entry hack is useful for any application where you would like the customer to be able to input their own price AND have that price show up as the item price in the cart.

I am posting very simple instructions on how to accomplish this as many people have asked me for it and seem to need this feature. I hope it will help someone out.

This modification allows you to offer quantity discount pricing for individual products!

Offering quantity discount pricing can be difficult. I have seen hacks to allow discounts for quantity orders, but not for individual products. This modification allows you to define specific discounts for each product in your store.

You can now offer pricing like:
1-9 of this item, price is $10.00 each
10-19 of this item, price is $9.00 each
20 or more of this item, price is $8.00 each

Features:

• Online definition of quantity pricing through your store manager program.
• Uses one of the user-defined fields to hold the quantity discount prices.
• Discount pricing can be set for items individually.
• Discounts applied only to those items you wish.
• Automatically calculates quantity pricing - user does not need to choose proper price range.
• Automatically changes discount price if necessary when customer uses "Edit Quantity" feature of the cart.

  The online Option File Creator script allows users to create option files right from their browser. Very flexible with the user defining how many options, choices and the type of choice.

  Creating option files can be frustrating, especially for those without any knowledge of html. This script allows anyone to create custom option files for each product in their store.

  Features:

  • Allows online creation of custom option files.
  • Allows the user to choose the name of the file, the number of options, and the number of choices available.
  • User can choose to have a drop-down list or a text entry box for option choice.
  • Shows the output of the option file and changes can be made simply by using the BACK button.

  Product Display Order Utility Finally! - Manage the order of products displayed.

  The online data.file manager script allows online access to view and categorize the order of the data.file and thus the order the products are displayed in your store.

  The store usually shows products in the order they were entered into the store.  Many merchants would prefer to show the newest items first.  Now you can use this script to have complete control over the order in which products are shown.  Move holiday oriented products to the top for the holidays, move them back down after - all from your browser.

  NOTES:
  All work and revisions are done to a temporary work file, so the original data.file is completely unchanged until the ACCEPT button is pressed. A RESTORE function reverts back to the original data.file after ACCEPTing the reordered file if the changes were not satisfactory.
  
  This script affects only the order of the entries in the data.file. It alphabetizes the entries by category and allows changing product order within categories. It does not change the reference number assigned to the product by commerce.cgi as this would negatively affect the operation of the cart.
  
  The display screen shows the assigned reference number, the order the products are displayed, the category name, the item name, and the item image. The numbers entered by the user are completely arbitrary and used only for ordering the file. These numbers entered do not affect the file contents in any way whatsoever, just the order they appear. there is no problem if the same number is used twice, except that if done within the same category, it may not result in the proper item being shown first. Regardless of the order number entered, the products will always be grouped by category allowing you to enter numbers repeatedly. For example if you have three product categories with 5 products in each, you can number the first category 1 through 5, AND number the second category 1 through 5, AND the same for the third category. The order the products are shown will be affected only within the category.
  
  You can make changes continually and continue to press the "submit for revision" button as many times as necessary until the desired results and order are achieved. No changes are made to the original data.file during this process. Once you are happy with the order of the products, then press the ACCEPT button and the changes will be written to the data.file. The original data.file is then backed up and may be restored with the RESTORE button.
  
  If during the revision process, you wish to start over again, just press the DELETE TEMP file button and the script will create a new temp file of the original and you can then begin making changes again.
  
  Simply running the script and pressing ACCEPT on the first try will result in the data.file being organized alphabetically by category name.

  Features:

  • Organizes the products alphabetically by category name.
  • Allows re-ordering the products within a category -OR- can be set to alphabetize.
  • User can re-arrange the products as much as desired before committing changes.
  • Back-up function allows restore of original data.file if results are not satisfactory.
  • Shows user total number of products in store, category, and order within category.
  • Shows user product image, -OR- user can set images off.

  Online Order Manager Script

  The online order manager script allows online access to the order log files for commerce.cgi / agora.cgi / merchant.cgi / similar.  It grabs the log, breaks it into individual orders and writes them to text files.

  This script should be placed in a password protected directory, it includes simple password protection of it's own that may be turned on or off.

  Features:

  	Organizes the orders into 2 folders, "pending" and "done".  Users can move orders from pending to done when appropriate.
  	Allows viewing of all pending orders, or all done orders.
  	Allows searching by order number.
  	Allows searching by customer name!
  	Allows selective searching of either or both folders.
  	Allows sending e-mail to customer based on their entered email address.
  	Appends full text of their order to the bottom of emails for their convenience.
  	Has back up function in case user is unsure if the last log file was grabbed successfully.

  NEW NEW NEW

  I've just released a new version of the order manager script.  In addition to all of the features noted above, it offers a great new interface and some great new features including:

  • Ability to delete order records.
  • Ability to attach notes to individual orders through a new "notepad" function.  Very useful for shipment tracking numbers or notes on customers.
  • Online instructions are now part of the script.  Simply click on "instructions" below the main admin menu heading.
  • Page index navigation now allows setting the max number of listings per page in the configuration section and automatically indexes pages accordingly.
  • Separate configuration file contains all user configuration variables.

  Coupon / Discount Code Manager

  The coupon / discount code manager script allows online access to adding / editing / deleting coupon codes for use with your shopping cart. I am offering this script with a complete coupon/discount management system for use with commerce.cgi

  This script must be placed in a password protected directory.

  Features:

  	Allows access from any browser to add / edit / delete discount codes.
  	Allows users to append notes to the individual codes.
  	Allows tracking of marketing - append notes to indicate where the code was made available and see where your customers are coming from.
  	Expiration date entry for coupons with automatic expiration! You don't need to delete old coupons, and can simply assign a new expiration date to re-activate a coupon. You may also assign a coupon with no expiration.
  	Encourage business - activate expiration dates and encourage your customers to purchase before the deadline to receive discounts.

  Image Gallery Viewer

  The image gallery viewer script allows managing all your image files.  Managing a store or any site with a lot of images can get confusing and messy.  This script allows you to Flip through all the images in a specified directory so you can see what all those file names really are and decide which to keep or which to delete.

  Features:

  	Allows viewing/indexing of any directory in the site where it is installed.
  	Allows user to navigate into any subdirectory of the base directory set by admin, but no higher.
  	Allows user to flip through images viewing them easily.
  	Configuration setting for max numer of returns per page with automatic page index navigation - great for those huge image directories.
  	Search feature for full or partial filenames - great for those times when you "kind of" remember that image filename.
  	Optional feature set in admin to enable moving of files to a designated "trash" folder through your browser - a great way to clean up your image directories.
  	"Flipping through" images couldn't be easier, images pop up in automatically sized windows.
  	Pop up windows automatically close when viewing another image or clicking anywhere off of their window, no pop up build up.

  Add a "New_Arrivals" category to your store!

  This hack allows you to easily add a "New_Arrivals" category to your site.  I was looking for an easy way for customers to view the latest products added to the store.

  Features:

  	Easy set up.
  	Customizable - turn this feature on or off with a new variable in commerce.setup.db.
  	You set the number of latest products to be displayed.
  	Simple to use, simply call your store with:  commerce.cgi?product=New_Arrivals.

  This hack allows you to easily link back to items from the cart display. It requires that you already have installed the "Link to a single item" hack from the members area of www.commerce-cgi.com
